Every production batch surrenders samples to our in-house lab before a single carton is sealed. A walkthrough of what we test, and what we reject.

There is a shelf in our laboratory that we call the museum. On it sit bars from batches we rejected: a laundry bar that cured two percent too wet in the monsoon of 2019, a beauty bar whose fragrance oxidised in a supplier's drum, a dishwash bar that scored fractionally low on total active matter. None of them would have been noticed by a customer for weeks. All of them were shredded and re-milled.

Fourteen tests stand between a finished batch and the dispatch bay. Some take minutes; the cure verification takes days. No batch has ever shipped early to meet a deadline, and that sentence has cost us exactly three orders in forty years — and won us thousands.

The fourteen gates

Total fatty matter, free caustic alkali, moisture content, chloride content, lather volume, lather stability, hardness, cracking resistance, fragrance conformity against a sealed reference, colour conformity under D65 light, weight tolerance, wrapper seal integrity, batch code legibility, and finally microbiological safety for all personal-care lines.

The fragrance test is the one visitors find strangest: a panel of three trained noses smelling blind against a reference bar kept in cold storage. Machines can chromatograph a fragrance, but customers do not own chromatographs. They own memories of the last bar. Ours must match it.

Why we publish our specs

Every wholesale and export partner receives the full specification sheet and can commission independent SGS verification at our cost, once per year. We adopted this policy in 2008. It filters our partnerships perfectly: serious buyers read the sheet and stay for decades.
